This is, unfortunately, and old problem that's recurring and is more prominent on certain maps, mostly older or smaller ones.
The reason MCC is out of the redline ia because of height; the redline actually gets pushed back as you gain height, which is why DS and MCC can appear to be in the redline but are actually outside it.
CCP, at one point, fixed it so you couldn't deploy equipment on top of an MCC, which drove a lot of MCC snipers away as they would constantly have to go down and up to resupply which cost them kills and a DS each time, since landing om an MCC would destroy
the DS. This seems to have reverted back, as I've seen Uplinks on the MCC on the very map you're posting about.
The biggest issue I have with snipers on either MCC is that the MCCs hitbox makes it extremely difficult to counter-snipe them. You can line up a shot that looks like it hits, only for it to hit the MCC.

Which left side of the map are you talking about? Your left or my left? Could you specify with an actual direction...North, South, East, or West?
